Best practice for managing metadata

Hi there!

What are best practices for managing metadata in my situation? My music files are stored on a NAS, and my Bluesound can play them without problems. I want to manage the metadata though: add album art, change genres, change names, etc. I have used iTunes when I had all the files on an iMac, but I use a MacBookPro now which cannot hold all the music files due to limited storage capacity.

  I use Mp3Tag. Easy to use. There is a Mac compatable version here:
