Network connection and BlueOS not responding
AnsweredLike many others, I am also facing a lot of difficulty in connecting my newly purchased Bluesound Node 2i.
I have already read several posts and their replies on issues similar to what I am facing now. My problems are as follows:
1. At my place, Enterprise Network (rather standalone home Wi-Fi network) is available for use by residents for variety of applications. Quality, reliability and speed of wifi network are top notch. I followed the sequence for wireless setting as explained on your website. When light was solid green, I was able to detect my Node's unique network ID in the available wifi networks. I selected it but had to open setup.blesound.com in my smartphon browser to get the control panel. Selected "Configure Wifi" followed by my wifi network, entered the password and pressed update. After few seconds, light turns "Blue", indicating that Node 2i is connected with the selected wifi network.
2. When I go back and open the BlueOS app, it does not lead to me anywhere. The page only shows a revolving circle in an attempt to detect the Node 2i but eventually failing to detect my Node 2i. I have repeated this process but to my frustration and disappointment only. Could you please suggest how to get this working?
3. When I directly connect Node 2i through Cat6 cable to the Ethernet, BlueOS refuses to work. I eagerly await your advise.

Hi Sahid
Enterprise Networks and Internet of Things appliances generally do not behave well as System Admins usually disable protocols such as mDNS (Multicast) required for IoT Products. This is done as much for security reasons as well as to keep your neighbours (who share your network) from controlling your devices. Our sales team has similar issues when demonstrating in hotel meeting rooms and require the building to make exceptions.
Speak with your facility's IT Group to see if they allow mDNS products on their network.

Thank you Tony. This is clear to me but why BluOS doesn't respond. Should I assume that unless Node 2i is properly connected to the network, there is no way BluOS will respond or we can navigate it through.

If multicast traffic is being blocked by the router - the App and Player cannot communicate with each other because all packets are being denied communication by the router.

I also facing the same situation, network connection, and Blues not responding Epson scanner communication error but when I read this post I really got the solution on how to overcome this problem.
