Revised Metadata Not Updating (deleted files still in library)
AnsweredHello - I recently downloaded the software 'Meta' for MacOS to revise metadata for incorrectly filed music. Unfortunately, half of the time this does not work, and any file changed, the original file does not delete. I know you recently got rid of 'Rebuild Index'; is there anything I'm missing?

Hi Aeron
We didn't get rid of it, just moved it to avoid confusion. Please select Help Diagnostics, Rebuild Index. Once the Index is completed, select Settings Reload Album Artwork to dump artwork cache in the App.
If problems persists, Help, Send Support Request so we may see the log file.

Maybe Meta keeps a backup which then also will be indexed? When I modify metadata in MP3Tag, it does not show up in the old version after re-indexing.

Do you have a mac compatible tagging software recommendation?

What is the difference between both re-indexing methods?

A reindex appends the index. It should include adds, moves and changes.
A rebuild deletes the database and builds a new database from scratch. It takes roughly 2 to 3 times longer on average this way...

The rebuild index didn't seem to work. I sent a help ticket.

I have sent two support requests. The reindex or rebuild index both fails on different files. This started from recent frmware upgrade 3.6.2 and 3.6.3. Please do not expect us to spend time on working with media files fixing art works. I have about 27000 +audio files in my NAS shared folders. The library is working well on Sonos. The Reindex happens every night as scheduled task on Sonos. Could you please fix this or provide us the last good firmware. Thanks.
