Unable to access music on windows network

I bought a Node 2i today.
I have tried to add the network share via the Android App and then the Windows App - no joy.
I tried adding a local folder via the Windows app and it looked like it was going to work after authentication and the Windows CMD popup. Then briefly got the configuring screen then it goes to Not Complete there is a problem adding this local share.
I followed all the instructions in here including the PDF file so I am pretty sure I have the correct settings for folder sharing.
If it is relevant I do see that BlueOs User has been created as a local login option on my list of windows accounts.
I had previously been running a laptop with JRiver as the client for streaming through the network.
Anyway, any advice you can provide is appreciated. Cheers!

Easiest and fastest way to solve this is to escalate this to support as these things vary based on firewall settings etc...
