Bluos Controller on Mac not finding Pulse-Flex
AnsweredHi, I'm using Bluos Controller version 3.4.6 on Mojave 10.14.5 and it doesn't find my Pulse-Flex. I've tried rebooting the speaker & router to no avail; as well as reinstalling the app and upgrading the speaker firmware to the latest (3.4.3). Speaker is found ok on IOS.
I searched around and found similar experiences when the Pulse-Flex is using 2.4GHz wireless and my Macbook is using 5GHz. However, these posts were 3yrs ago so assumed Bluesound would have fixed this anomaly?
There's not much I can do in terms of configuring the router as I use a BT Smart Hub 2 with Discs and can't find a way to override my Macbook connecting via the 5GHz disc.
Appreciate any ideas or guidance.
Thanks, Julian

Hi Julian
Band spanning is not an agreed upon industry standard... ...yet. British Telecom (and Bell Canada too so not picking on anyone) has some weird rules on how they invoked it. Check out; https://support1.bluesound.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005578588

Hi Tony, thanks for coming back so promptly. I suspected as much. Unfortunately, the BT Smart Hub 2 does not allow you to split the bands as you could do with previous models of the BT Hub.
I'll speak with BT and get their take on a solution (if any) and report back.

And there is no solution for a BT Smart Hub 2. Band spanning or steering can't be turned off.
FYI - everything works fine on IOS. Just seems to be an issue with the Bluos Controller App on Mac OS (Mojave).

Hi Tony, that option is not available on the Mac OS version. See attached screenshot.

Or it doesn't connect to allow me to do so!

Are you stuck on this black screen? If so, please drag the App to the Trash and empty the Trash. Then download and install a new version of the App from www.bluesound.com/downloads. By not finding teh Player, i thought you meant the App launched but the Player was not being displayed.

I'd previously tried the steps you advise and it made no difference. I've also tried one further time with no success. I did try a wired connection from my Macbook to the router and the controller works fine. So definitely a wireless problem (but unable to grab a log as it doesn't initially find and connect to the speaker). Any further thoughts?

I have exactly the same problem with Mojave 10.14.5-- everything worked "fine"- I went on holiday and came back and nothing will now connect- I am an old customer and have been so frustrated for many years with Bluesound connectively issues- I know all the tricks and have tried all the tricks but nothing at all is working. I have about $5000 worth of useless Bluesound equipment which I cannot use. I lodged a customer request 3 days ago and have not been contacted - this is just impossible-
