    Hi Castermane

    No. You must have a local WiFi network to use a smartphone or tablet to control your players. Bluesound Players use mDNS or zero configuration multicast to communicate with each other and apps on the network. By design, this universal protocol is not rout-able so cannot cross network IPs. This is why it is an ideal protocol used in most IoT smart home appliances.

    @Tony W.

    On my Desktop Devices I can select the POWERNODE (v3) directly in the Spotify-Application.

    When I then open Spotify on my Smartphone (no WLAN or Bluetooth on, only 4G), then I see the POWERNODE (v3) there too and I can switch songs. As soon as I switch to "Play on this Smartphone" then the  POWERNODE (v3) disapears.

    So there is kind of a connection on my Smartphone even if I didn't turn on WLAN or Bluetooth ;-)

    I even can choose the POWERNODE (v3) when I'm at my office computer which isn't in the same local network. So there is must be crossnetwork routing ;-)

    Thus I see no reason why stearing the POWERNODE (v3) by Smartphone with 4G only shouldn't be possible.

    Please correct me if I'm wrong.
