Running list of apps which can cast to Node 2i
AnsweredIs there a running list of apps/services which BlueSound has partnered with, so audio can be directly cast from the native app to the Node 2i?
I don't want bluetooth destroying the audio quality so don't want to go that route, and the BlueOS controller is just barely a viable option due to a variety of bugs and limitations.
Tidal is not on the list and is a huge gap.
Qobuz is apparently debatable - I've seen reports stating you can cast from Qobuz app to Node 2i, but I can't get Qobuz to recognize my node 2i, when I contacted Qobuz support they couldn't even understand the question I was asking.
Spotify is on the list, but don't offer any hi-fi/MQA audio.

Hi Josh
Bluesound does not support Google Cast but it does support AirPlay on our 2i line up.
Here is a list of direct integrated services available for us in the BluOS App; https://support.bluos.net/hc/en-us/articles/360000199908

Thanks but I'm not looking for services which are available in the BluOS app.
I am looking for which services have partnership with BlueSound to treat the Node 2i as an endpoint, so I can use that services native app to control the Node 2i rather than the BluOS controller. Spotify is one example where this relationship exists, but I'm not sure what other options are out there.
Is there a list of services which treat the Node 2i as a playback endpoint from their native app?

Hi Josh
That is the complete list of all partners we work with. Of which, only Spotify uses an end-point solution. The others all favour deep integration using our App.

Disappointing, but thanks Tony for the info.
Is this community the best place to submit feedback, questions, etc for the BluOS controller? I'd start a new conversation of course.

Help, Send Support Request in the App or e-mail us at support@bluesound.com.
Keep in mind, when it comes to Music Service Partners, it's as much their decision as our as we simply implement their API.
That being said we are always looking for feedback to improve the experience for all...

Well I'd love Tidal, Deezer or Qobuz to have the same option of casting directly from their own app. Why rebuild an app when most of them have built a perfect application already. I completely agree with Josh.

This appears to be the only weak point of my blue sound (power mode).
Bluetooth isnt reaching/out of range. WiFi is good quality but no way to get sound over the WiFi to the bluesound.
I'm trying to listen to iPlayer and content on BBC SoundCloud that work fine on my phone.
My phone is android so I don't have airplay...
If there was an app (e.g. bluesound) that could mirror the sound to the device (or just add casting feature like the Nvidia shield does) it would be perfect!

Google cast would be a real boon; I do believe that it can be integrated with software so does not require new hardware, but then i'm not positive on this. Tony W. what is exactly holding up google cast integration? An honest answer would be appreciate; is it Google not allowing it or not willing to help with software integration or is it that Bluesound hasn't allocated the development time to the matter. Or is it simply not possible with the current lineup of hardware.

I could not agree more.
Intuitively I regularly find myself hitting the cast icon in all my apps because I need and want to cast the audio directly only to remember that my Powernode is not selectable in the list.I find this to be a huge missing bridge between my various devices and the Bluesound ecosystem. It's an obvious shortcoming.

I have just went to look for answer as BBC announced mid 2023 cut off point for TuneIn. Would be great to have Chromecast integrated to Node2i. Bluetooth is not really a way forward.
I see this thread started two years ago...? Access to BBC sounds is what we need added to the list.0
