I've recently bought a pair of Pulse Flex 2i as a stereo pair for their Roon Ready abilities. Both speakers resolutely refuse to connect to the 2Ghz WiFi network. I've had to connect them to the hardwired network and manually reconfigure them to connect to the 5Ghz network, but in spite of being within line-of-sight of the router and barely 5m away, I am getting constant drop-outs, especially from one speaker in particular.
When Roon tries to play through the speakers, it constantly gets an error saying "Roon lost control of the device".
However, even when I use the BluOS app to play Radio Paradise, the stereo pair plays for c.10 seconds and then disconnects. I suspect it's one speaker in particular, but as I bought two for the stereo functionality, they're both not much use to me as things stand.
No idea why they won't connect to the 2.4Ghz network, I've tried using the Android App, the iOS app, the Windows PC controller and the OSX controller. None of them are able to force the 2.4Ghz connection, I always just get to the point where it tried to connect, then it blinks green for a while, then I get the dreaded purple light.
For what it's worth, it's a Linksys wrt3200acm router flashed with ExpressVPN OpenWRT firmware.
Any ideas? I fear I'll probably have to return them.
