problem with playlist M3U file on USB Key root
AnsweredHello,
I have a music library on a USB key. It works without problems on my Node 2i.
I tried to create a playlist (currently only 2 songs) mylist.m3u located at the root of the key.
It contains:
//USB/Artist/Album/song 1.flac
//USB/Artist/Album /song 2.flac
The name of the playlist is visible in the "my playlists" menu, but does not contain any songs.
I tried
../Artist/Album/song 1.flac
../Artist/Album/song 2.flac
In this case, the name of the playlist is not visible.
I tried the text format windows (EOL = CRLF) and Linux (EOL = LF): same problem
I tried the extended m3U format generated by VLC (adapting the paths): same problem.
Can you tell me what is the syntax of an M3U file content on a USB key for BlueSound node 2I?
Can the file or folder names can contain blanks caracters?
Thanks in advance
Regards

Hi Fafa44
Wouldn't it just be easier to create the Playlist in Bluesound rather than import it...?
Had to go back to the archives for this from before us importing .xml (iTunes) playlists but try this from a now retired KB I wrote back in the day... it's 1 period not two ./ not ../ meaning THIS Directory not back one...
There are many iTunes utilities available that will export as .M3U playlists. Bluesound has tested an excellent shareware product from http://dougscripts.com/ called Batch Export Playlist v1.9 (or higher). Please follow their instructions to download and install it on your iTunes system.
Once you have exported and have a series of .M3U files, using TextEdit, open each .M3U file and find & replace the text '/Users/-username-/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/' where -username- is the user name of the Apple Login ID with just './' (a period followed by a forward slash) from the beginning of each entry and save the list. The text may also be '/Users/-username-/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/' depending on your release of iTunes.
Place the saved .M3U file(s) in the folder Users/-username-/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media (or iTunes Music as noted above) where -username- is the user name of the Apple Login ID.
Reindex your Bluesound Player.
These exported iTunes Playlists should now appear in Local Library under Playlists.
If that doesn't help, please select 'Help, Send Support Request' so we can take a closer look...Comment actions -
Hi Tony,
To me, it's easyer to create/modify large playlists on a computer.
I don't use Apple computer and Itunes, but Windows 10 and VLC, notepad++ to modify M3U files.Have you any samples models of m3u files which works with BlueSound?
I tried too to create playlist with Bluesound OS with the "Add to Playlist..." function from the context Menu. It's works fine for the first song (i have to create a new playlist).
For the second song the "Select playlist" window is empty, so i can't add it to an existing playlist.
I sended a support request 2 days ago about this last issue and I'm waiting for response... -
Thanks for your patience Fafa44 - we have been in extremely high demand with the success of The 2i line up and AirPlay making us even more popular than anticipated...
We are working to improve that experience too but ask you please be patient. If you received a request number, you will here form us...
Thanks -
Hi Fafa44
We do not have samples because you really aren't using the product from the way we recommend by manually creating Playlists by hand
As for your Blank list issue, we are having a hard time replicating it. Please ensure you are on the latest version of the App (3.4.6), close the App and relaunch it.

1- yes, but create manually larges playlists with BlueSound Apps will be a very long way ...
2-My system (I bought it 6 days ago, so i am newbie...):
BluOS : 3.4.3
Windows App : 3.4.6
Android App : 3.4.0
"help\upgrade check ..." function return "no update available"
3- Same blank list issue on Windows app and Android App.
I reinstalled Windows App and Android App : same issue.
I have 3 lists . 2 have been created with "Save Play Queue" function. The third one with "Add to Playlist..." function (so this last one contains only one song).

Hi,
Some news:
1- I create a local share on my windows computer:
I can add songs in existing playlist with "Add to Playlist..." function. (With windows App)
So, i seems the issue is with USB media mounted on Node 2i USB port. I use a new USB key (16go, FAT32 format): same issue.
2- Same issue on local share with M3U file (playlist name is visibled but empty ...)
