Andriod phone app not indexing local files
AnsweredHi, I have a NAD amp with the MDC BluOS card installed. I have installed the BluOS on my andriod phone and have some local songs on my phone. When I go into the app settings and click on 'reindex music collection', the app does not pick up the local files on my phone. Do I have to store the local files in a particular location on my phone?

Hi Maheen
BluOS cannot access local files from your Android phone. To play those you will have to use Bluetooth. The local library you reindex is to a local PC. If your files are backed up on a PC, this is how you access them; https://support1.bluesound.com/hc/en-us/articles/200271766

Hi Jens
This option was removed mid last year due to security concerns by both Android and Apple. This option circumnavigates the ability to secure data on your phone or tablet and was viewed as a breach of security. Once realised, we of course agreed and removed the functionality to secure our consumers.
You can use Bluetooth AptX for great sound quality as a workaround. Checkout www.bluesound.com/bluetooth to see how...

Hi Tony,
You should take a look at cloudplayer by doubletwist.
https://www.doubletwist.com/cloudplayer
This app allows you to index your songs on your phone/device and then you can stream them. It seems strange cloudplayer allows this. How are they getting around the security concerns? May be you need to allow for the ability to import songs from your phone/device to the app itself to work around this security concern. I believe this is how cloudplayer gets around the security issues.
Maheen.
