5GHz WiFi connection issue
AnsweredMy Bluesound Node 2i is connected to the 5GHz band on my router even though I’ve read a lot of posts saying they don’t support 5GHz. The 2.4GHz band is considerably stronger in my home, and the bands have separate SSIDs. The Node 2i doesn’t even see the 2.4 band, and won’t let me connect manually. It is connected to the 5GHz band but the signal strength is very poor. In the region of -73dB according to the diagnostics page of the app.
Any help very gratefully received! :(

The Node and NODE 2 do not support dual bands. The NODE 2i will support both the 5 and 2.4 Ghz bands.
In Help, Diagnostics, select Force Hot Spot and then restart the player to remove and reset your network settings. If problems persist, drop us a note at support@bluesound.com

Elaborating on the above, can you confirm that 2i generation players (Mini 2i and Flex 2i in my case) support both 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz bands?
I have been often told that 2.4 Ghz offer "stronger" (but slower) signal and should therefore be favoured for Bluesound, even if the players theoretically support 5 Ghz as well, would Bluesound agree with that?

Hi Marc - yes they do...
We don't disagree with your assertation - I would add that 2.4Ghz travels through walls and around corners better than 5Ghz does... (why perceived as stronger) - In the vast majority cases, the speed difference would not affect sonic performance.
