    Hi Jakob

Bluesound Gen2i Players will work with Siri via Apple AirPlay and the Home App.

Next week we are launching our Amazon Alexa Skill.

We are continuing to work with Google regarding Google Home Assistant but do not have a time frame just yet on this.

  • Le Hegarat Julien

    Bonjour,

Si vous travaillez avec Google, cela signifie que la génération 2i sera un jour compatible avec Google home. Il n'y a pas de limitation matérielle?
J'avoue avoir une nette préférence pour Google (système très efficace)

    Thx

    Merci Julien

We do not have a time frame on Google Assistant that we can share or project yet but are aware of consumer demands for it...

Ok, there is no time frame yet. Will "Generation 1" devices also be able to support Google home integration?

    Hi Bluesound team,

Still no time frame that can be shared?

This is my last hope and i dont want to change to Sonos. Please make this work or at least share info.

    Dear Bluesound team,
It is my recommedation that your developers start working on this ASAP. Myself and many others bought your device with promise from supplier that google assistant would work within short. We know that you also know that this is a must have.
Otherwise a great product, but neglecting the google aspect really lowers the overall score.
    All the best // Jakob

    Hi,
Agree with all the above mentioned comments about Google assistant support. This is really a must have now that we have been waiting for over 1,5 years after being promised the feature. Thanks for letting us know the status in this matter.

    Best regards,
    Kevin

We agree as well - it's why we are looking into it. Again - I don't have anything I can share time frame wise but with voice already available with our BluOS Voice Skill for Alexa and Gen 2i Players being able to be used with Siri via the Home App it is just a matter of time before we hit the trifecta of voice.

Hi Tony, juts checking in .. still no timeframe? Am working with a few other suppliers to integrate Google based on their Siri/Alexa stuff in their home automation gadgets and the process has been fairly quick .. weeks rather than months and KevinV is right that we have been waiting over 18 months now ..

    Thanks,

    rene

I am missing the Google Assistant integration too. Even Amazon Alexa for EU/Germany is not supported at the moment. Any chance we will see something here ???

    Finally !

It seems that the Bluesound devices will be "manageable" via some existing google assistant devices, which is already great! Anyway, is there a plan to have Bluesound devices capable to directly listen and answer Google Assistant Voice commands? Probably with newer devices?

Yes, I noticed as well, great news. It just says in the press release that the bluos support site contains a list of commands and I haven't been able to find that ..

@Bluos, please share the link?https://support.bluos.net/hc/en-us/categories/360000877974-Voice  doesn't have Google yet?

We will be publishing our Actions on Google Support Article one we release... which is soon...

    Thanks for your patience...

It's released now, but its not working.

I can sign in to Google Assistant, but Google doesn't recognize my Node 2i. The command "Hey Google, let me talk to Blue Voice" doesn't work.

For me too I'm afraid. When accessing the Explore tab of Google assistant and search for Blue Voice it appears as suggestion with the Bluesound logo, but after that the page states "we can't find what you're looking for at the moment"...

    Hello all

Thank you for your patience. We have been working on this for most of today and have confirmation from Google the outage is on their end. They are aware of the issue and trying to restore service as quickly as possible and hope to notify us once service is restored.

You may notice yourselves though once it is as it will then just work.

We do apologise and thank you for your patience.

Are you guys also working on making alexa or Google assistant to work without having to ask blue voice?

Asking Google to ask blue voice to play whatever music I want is making me not using it.

Thanks a lot Tony for the update!

Hint Martin! You can create custom routines in Google assistant like "it's study time" that sends one or several blue voice commands to your speakers so you won't have to say those awful long "sentences" :)

    Hi Martin

    We are not for 3 primary reasons;

    • It would require placing microphones in a new set of Players and you will have to then purchase them
    • There is a high probability that it locks us into Alexa -OR- Google taking a choice away from you
    • We are limited in our functions such as multiple Music Services and unique commands to our products

For example, BluOS supports Siri without an invocation word but are limited to only using BluOS 2i Players with AirPlay Support and can only listen to music on AppleMusic.

Please see https://support.bluos.net/hc/en-us/categories/360000877974 for details on how to use the 3 major Voice Control services with Bluesound

While I appreciate the answer, it raises another question.

To use Google home today you don't need a microphone in the bluesound devices. We assume that the user has a Google home speaker or uses their phone. Why can't we just add the bluesound speaker to Google so that I don't have to ask Google to ask bluesound. No extra microphone is needed since the user already has Google. Many speakers can do this without a microphone. Why can't we get that functionality in bluesound? It is clearly not needed to have a microphone in them. It would just be lika having a chromecast audio in the speaker or amp.

    2) there are speakers with both alexa and Google support. No need to worry there.

    3) users can be able to pick a music service to the preferred one when asking Google. Usually people don't have several anyways.

Also: please make bluesound integrated into Samsung smartthings. That way we wouldn't need to have this conversation since smartthings works with Google and Siri and alexa.

It's not quite that cut and dry but thanks for the feedback Martin - I have passed it along for future consideration.

Ofc it isn't. But in your reply wou wrote that you had to put a microphone in the device. And that simply isn't true.

Sony, LG, bang & olufsen, Vizio, primare, jbl, Harman, pioneer and many more have chromecast support.

That fixes the problem with asking Google to ask bluvoice to play som music. Please give us chromecast support in the devices.

Any news about the support of Google Assistent? It is still not working here

    Hi Ronald

Google has resolved this issue at their end. You may have to log out of Google Assistant in Music Services and restart your Player. If problems persist, please select Help, Send Support Request.

Just a reminder Google Assistant is only available in English.

Yes, we just need Chromecast support, no need for the cumbersome "Hey Google, let me talk to Blue Voice"

  • Scott Steel

Yeah, this cumbersome "Hey Google, talk to BlueVoice to let it know that I'd like you to play some music from Tidal" circus is a deal breaker for me. Technology should seek to subtract UX friction, not add to it. Like other posters here, I can't seem to understand what's so difficult about allowing compatibility with Google Home so that the Node 2i is recognizable as a device so that it can be controlled via GA.

Waited too long, I moved to Naim, they have Chromecast built-in. Will try to sell my powernode.
