    Hi Mark

Rebuild is exactly what it sounds like - it throws out the old index and builds a new one at about a rate of 1000 tracks a minute on a wired player to a wired NAS or PC.

A Reindex takes a third of that time and is a quick scan looking just for new music that has been added. A great quick way to get those new downloads into your Library faster.

    Hi Tony,

additional related question regarding Reindex: "looking just for new music that has been added"

Is that only for newly added files or does it also reflect updated existing files already within the library?

Scenario: I update/ change tags on existing files. I would assume this is also reflected in Reindexing, isn''t it?

    Best regards

    Henrik

    Hi Henrik

Yes it will also take into account metadata changes as 'new' but will not update changes to album artwork. That will require a full rebuild.

What I am wondering is why the reindexing is not execute by BluOS itself? I have for example a twonky server on my NAS and that updates itself. I weekly add new music and everytime I need to reindex. In my experience that isnt working some of the times. I dont see any new music in the app, while I added several new albums.

    Why arent you reindexing automatically?
