Hi Pavel
Yes, you can pug a USB drive into the back of a NODE 2i and it will index over 200,000 songs stored on that drive.

Hi Keith
You can use a USB Drive. This Help Centre Article will answer your questions on how it differs; https://support1.bluesound.com/hc/en-us/articles/201158077

Hello Senor,
Please ensure your USB hard drive is formatted in FAT32 or NTFS format with only a single partition. If you can verify this and are still experiencing issues, please contact our support crew at support@bluesound.com to investigate this further for you.Regards,

Nde2i will index you HDD. Did mine with about 20,000 tracks.
The only think i dont like, is that if it is into "vacation mode" which for me is like turning it off it has to reindex.
I do prefer to turn it off because i have an external HDD and i dont know how does it behaves after been ON for days. i think it is gonna crash someday

I have an SSD directly connected via USB. Any hdd would be the same. As Tony wrote, it must be FAT32 or NTFS. Mine came preformatted EXFAT which didn't work until I reformatted. I also turn off the node at night to save power and since I'm not sure about long term effects of sdd being plugged in all the time (it is slightly earn even when mode is in standby). So it takes about 2 minutes to re-index about 300 CDs. Wish it didn't need to re-index of course but yes, it works.
