I'm looking into buying a "commercial Streamer" with an associated user-friendly front-end (via an mobile APP or remote control) as we are currently using a Kodi media player to play music. The biggest drawback of this solution is that Kodi is tailored more to watch movies than to playing audio files. Also the APP control software is not that user friendly (yes Yatse has a lot of features but this makes it for my wife difficult to use).
SONOS is ruled out as it cannot play hi-res audio files and in the past years I've collected a lot of Hi-Res audio music. Also I converted my SACD collection, the stereo part, into 88 kHz 24 bit flac files. So I thought buying a Node 2i is a "no brainer". However it turns out that apparently my Harmony Hub and Elite remote can control BluSound Node 2i only via IR-remote and not, like SONOS, via WiFi which enables two way communication (you can see SONOS favorites on the remote). This last one is a very tempting feature as this allows to listen to a limit number Internet radio stations by using the Harmony Remote alone. This all in anticipation when my Cable company (for which I'working....) will ditch analog FM via TV Cable..
My questions is: Are there any plans to work together with Logitech to control a Node 2i (or another Bluesound device) via WiFi instead of IR only?
Note: I just found out that the Denon Heos system can also be controlled by the Harmony Hub via WiFi and it supports Hi-Res audio.... Mmm interesting alternative...
