Flex 2i Volume Control Bug when running on battery

When adjusting the playback volume on a Flex 2i that's running on battery, the output level drops significantly and the upper volume limit gets set to -15dB. Although the volume setting is visibly identical to that of another Flex 2i running on AC power, according to the BluOS app, the effective output level is audibly much lower - approximately by 50%. When this occurs, it is possible to adjust the lower volume limit from the default -90dB, but adjustments to the upper limit are not committed. The only way I've found to revert the upper limit to 0dB and restore the output level is by rebooting the Flex 2i. But making any adjustment to the output level of the Flex 2i running on battery - whether through the BluOS app or Roon - causes the problem to occur again.
Loud speakers are supposed to create joy, and battery packs are supposed to enhance the access to joy through the addition of portability. This problem is annoying and stupid. It's also unacceptable.

One clarification: when restoring AC power to the Flex speakers and then adjusting the speaker volume, the upper volume limit automatically reverts from -15dB to the original 0dB, and the audible output level calibration with the displayed volume level (based on comparison with a plugged in unit).
