RE: the question in this post, the answer is yes, you can use a Google Chromecast as a bit-perfect digital transport to a Pulse Flex 2i using the optical input.  

It's more than a little dismaying to see that a "Product Support Manager" replied having fundamentally misinterpreted the question and then, to make matters quite a bit worse, closed the thread for comment.
