TuneIn without ads and “Welcome” embedded in BluOS – A solution for your main stations
This solution is NOT suitable if you want to discover and listen to many new radio stations in quick succession. But it is a very good solution (at least for me) if you want to listen to your 10, 20, or 30 favorite stations without ads and annoying announcements and switch between them. It takes a little effort, but only once.
As many of you know, with TuneIn Favorites embedded in BluOS, you can enter the URL of the station and then name the station yourself. This way, ads and announcements are eliminated forever. They are completely gone and the stations switch instantly. I have found three useful tools (websites). There are very few stations that hide their URL, e.g. the BBC. Edit, the BBC has new URL you will find it. On the other hand, there are stations that cannot be found by all three tools. But for the vast majority of stations, it is easy to find their URL. Some tools allow you to select the sound quality. Since I don't know if links are allowed here, I have removed the “dot.” Just replace the word dot with a „.“

offers different resolutions. Copying the URL is not so convenient on a tablet, but it usually works.

A very convenient way to copy the URL of your station immediately and easily. Just press the small green field on the right and insert in BluOS the URL.

Very professional site, you can find out a lot about the station, even the geostationary data and all resolutions in MP3 and AAC, if available. Only my favorite station was not identified: One Jazz Radio. But streamurl dot link recognized it. Perhaps this is a little help to avoid the new flood of ads from TuneIn in BluOS.

I think it would be useful if Bluesound support could clarify the workings of the TuneIn vs direct url stream, as handled by BluOS. When I launch my national radio station through TuneIn, the system links as follows:
My question is: has the custom url anything to do with TuneIn? Because the "TuneIn:u20/..." in the line above is confusing. If the custom url is indeed independent from TuneIn we don't have to worry much about ads and bumpers.

I came to say that I am deeply annoyed that buying a premium audio device and confronted with these ads is just off puting. Having to to make all these tweaks and work around is just not what one should expect when purchasing a BlueSound device.

Thanks Heinz for the workaround, saved my day. And I agree with Anne, premium equipment should not come with ad supported functionality. If you can't come to an agreement with TuneIn there are other internet radio developers you can team up with instead, some which provides solutions for free.
