New update 4.10 is (again) a failure
AnsweredI knew I shouldn’t upgrade first hand with Bluesound. Well, my system broke after the update. The sound was distorted. Some inputs on my NAD were truncated (Coaxi instead of Coaxial 1). The volume was at least 10dB shifted (much softer). -50dB was my max. Now it’s -38 to reach the same level. My powernode N330 was gone. I had to reset everything, reinstalling my local library, adding the node again. And now the sound is aweful on my NAD658. Very ‘digitally’. What have you done again? Everytime there’s something amiss. NAD used to be great. BlueSound was the worst they could have incorporated into their products. Really utter..you know what.. Yeah, I’m pissed. Is there nothing in the world that works anymore?! Well, certainly BluOS is not.

I updated as well to the latest update and now am not able to play .wav and .flac files.
Should not have updated to the new firmware.
How do I roll back the firmware?
Not a happy person.. trouble ticket submitted

@ Carl
What units have you updated? This thread makes me reluctant to update any of my BluOS gear.

It is the Node Icon. I am currently rebuilding the index per guidance from BluSound.
I would definitely hold off on the update.
This indexing thing will take a long time.0 -
Wish I'd read your post five minutes ago, Carl -- I just updated and all my presets are cooked.

Benjamin, ugh.. so sorry to hear you are having issues as well. I can play mqa files, but all my vinyl rips seem to not play. 32/192 had no problems playing yesterday. But now my wav and flac seem to be non working.
BluSound should of tested this better0 -
Oh, it's no big deal…I didn't have anything to do for the next…<checks watch>…hour or so… ;-)
Sorry about your library. I don't have one -- I only use the system for streaming via Tidal and the like -- but I'm trying to reindex anyway...0 -
Yes, I realize 32/192 is overkill..that is how I rip with the 32 bit floating point.. anyway, the point is before the update these files had no problem playing. I started to rebuild index, will let that run, I guess until complete..hours, days? No idea..

The Bluesound tech team are still trying to figure out my problem, which is that I have (since Day 1 with this system) linked my players (there are 7 of them) one by one, then gone around the house to check the volume levels, then stored the presets that way…except my housecleaner will occasionally bump the control panel of one of the speakers, and all the saved volumes reset and I have to do it again…Apparently, the presets/volumes are only linked to the initial player (in this case, the one in my living room), not saved anywhere as a group…I would LOVE to be able to "export" my presets/volume levels so I can "import" them again if something like this happens!

Carl, absolutely no idea how you managed to play those files previously as Bluesound hardware only supports upto 192kHz sample rate at a depth of 16-24 bits.

That is definitely a unique situation. It is as if your settings are being written over. I wonder what the solution is. If your network settings I assume are not being changed. Using static or DHCP on your devices? Is there any method for disabling the touch screen on the physical device to prevent it from activating when accidentally bumped into?

Seppi, fo you think they were being down sampled?

I wonder if the update kicked that restriction in?

All I can suggest is logging a support ticket by email with one track attached and ask.

Well, Seppi, my optical input is also not working as it doesn’t decode the bitstream from my nuc mediacenter, connected to my tv. The tv passes the bitstream. It has always worked (bar one time when a fw uodate introduces crackling, remember that?). It’s a 24/96kHz stream, but others won’t work too. Just when I tell the tv to convert to PCM will the nadc658 produce a sound. Something is seriously wrong with the decoder…

I updated my firmware yesterday and nothing broke but cannot see any improvements and find the changelog neither. Do you know where it is?

I haven't dared updating for a long time. I was happier with v3, and made the mistake of ugrading to new, worse versions. I won't make that mistake again. Unfortunately they won't let us access older versions. No customer focus with these guys, just another corporation wo thinks they know what we want

Scott,
Absolutely agree with you a million percent.
I have given up on my device, will never buy another product from this organization.
Lost faith and any confidence in this company.
