Struggling to connect samsung TV to node

Trying for the first time to play my 5 year old samsung tv to my node and then onto an amp and external speakers.. I have connected the ARC ports on both devices (eARC not available on tv) with a high quality cable but the tv does not seem to recognise the node’s existence showing only tv speakers or optical output (currently a soundbar). Playing around with the settings hasn’t achieved anything. I have activated auto sense on the node under hdmi. Any thoughts on next steps?

  Have a look in the TV setting to see if there is an AVR audio out option, if not follow the instructions below…

  Thanks for this, very helpful. I’ve got it working now, toggling the HDMI control off and on again on the TV seemed to bring things to life.
