7.1 Speaker setup for Home Theater
AnsweredI want to create a home theater setup by adding 2 satellite speakers for front left and right in addition to the soundbar, add 2 satellite speakers for left and right side, and also have 2 speakers for my left and right rear, like a traditional 7.1 setup. Is this possible? Everything I’m finding says the home theater setup is limited to the 2 flex rear speakers, the soundbar, and the subwoofer (my current setup). If I’m able to add more to my setup for a richer theater experience, I’d love to know how, which speakers are compatible with doing so for 7.1, and what other equipment may be necessary. I’m also wanting to add an additional subwoofer and don’t know if I can pair multiple subs with my soundbar.

You won’t be able to create a full 7.1 setup as this is not something Bluesound support.
They have however just announced a new POWERNODE a that will provide separate Front, Left and Centre speaker channels coupled with a pair of surrounds but not 7.1
Sticking with BluOS you may want to look at Bluesound’s sister company NAD who have AV receivers that will do what you want using traditional passive speakers.

Thanks!! So purchasing the POWERNODE will allow me to create a 5.1 setup with two front satellite speakers?

Yes, the new POWERNODE (Due September) will let you have three passive speakers LRC, it has three sets of speaker terminals.
