DIRAC Licence - Possibility of a trial period for the Icon player.
AnsweredI have a home cinema setup integrated into my hi-fi system. The Arcam AVR21 came with a DIRAC licence allowing me to smooth out any inconsistencies with my 5.1.2 system in my lounge.
Now whilst I have two Spendor D7.2 floorstanding loudspeakers positioned in line with their recommendation I feel my hi-fi sound fed from an Icon into a Naim XS3 may benefit from a DIRAC calibration.
But it’s not something I’ve done before as my hi-fi hardware was not DIRAC-compatible. A licence will cost me 186GBP which would be wasted if I don’t hear any worthwhile improvements. Could you consider working with the DIRAC people to release a time limited version (7 days?) so potential customers could try before they commit to a purchase?

Hi Ray,
I've shared your feedback about a time-limited DIRAC trial with our Bluesound management team. We understand the importance of testing software before buying.
Since DIRAC is a separate company, it might be helpful to contact them directly about your request. They could provide more information on trial options or promotions.
Thanks for #LivingHiFi -
@Mark T. Thanks for your reply. I took advantage of a DIRAC licence on my Arcam AVR21 and after listening to music on YT this afternoon I’m satisfied that DIRAC helps clean up the bass in my system. So I won’t be contacting DIRAC but if others are interested in a trial license they should definitely request it rather than take a risk or not bothering in case it’s money wasted.
