    Hi -- certainly not a solution, but this happens to me frequently as well. I discovered if I formatted the offending drive on a different device (in my case a Chromebook), then the Vault would accept the drive and could go through its own formatting process.

    I formatted the drive in NTFS format and then the vault took it and reformatted it for backup
