Latency when using Node Icon as preamp/DAC
AnsweredFollowed by 2 people
I'm considering an Icon as a preamp and DAC as well as for streaming. Not interested in multiroom. Latency is a critical factor for me.
What is the latency when using a local source over USB, optical or analog, measured from input to XLR out?
I assume enabling Dirac will increase latency, if so, how much?
Thanks!

All BluOS Players have a syncronisation delay requirement of 50ms to accommodate multiroom by design regardless of the number of players. Bluesound Players do not feature any bypass of this. DIRAC does not add delay.

Ah, that's a pity, I need lower latency than that in some situations. I hope you'll consider a bypass of sorts for a future update - this would make the Node Icon an interesting option for use cases such as music production / DJing, playing video games and others where latency is critical.
