Fixed output level too hot

Hello, I have set the sensitivity of analogue input of roksan attessa to low that is to handle signals of about 3vrms . When I set the volume setting on Node Nano to fixed output the output is too hot . I cannot achieve gain match . It sounds stressed. I get very good sound quality if I reduce the volume digitally . But given the setting of my amplifier I should have achieved good match with nano and fixed output. The fixed output volume should normally provide the cleanest signal and highest SNR. Can you check this ? Thanks, Nikos
