Node 130 with external DAC

My Node 2i is connected to an IFi Zen One Signature via coax. I’d like to control volume via the iOS apps (BlueOS and Tidal), rather than use the fixed output pass through mode which requires volume control via my integrated amp. My question: other than MQA unfolding and digital volume control, does the Node do any signal processing before passing the digital data through to the external DAC, vs passthrough mode (which I assume is a straight, unprocessed pass through from the source)?

  With tone control and replaygain off the signal is unaltered
