Will Spotify ever be avaiable as a standalone service instead of Spotify connect?

Let's cut to the chase. Spotify connect is terrible. And Bluesound's implementation of it is not great and apparently hamstrung by whatever restrictions Spotify puts on them.

So will an actual REAL Spotify service ever be added to Bluesound?

  That is a question for Spotify. Like any music service, Spotify provides companies such as Bluesound a Software Development Kit or API document to implement their service.

  Spotify Connect has been very successful for them and why it is the most widely adopted service across the industry. It also allows them to not have to maintain an API and only make minimal SDK changes periodically as they add service in just one location, their App.

  It is doubtful Spotify will be moving away from this model in the foreseeable future.
