Dirac on Node Icon

I think the answer is that it depends like anything else on the components in the whole system.
While I cannot speak to the Node Icon, I have Dirac on 2 systems a NAD M33 with Harbeth SHL5 plus speakers and a NAD C658 through an Anthem amplifier with B&W CM5 speakers. Dirac made a clear and dramatic improvement to the sound on both systems.
Perhaps a local dealer can arrange a demo for you to hear for yourself.

Way back I tried the cheapest dirac licence that came with NAD T777 and NAD M10 (in a 5.1 living room system and a 2.2 bedroom system respectively). Very happy with the results – everything sounded better, tighter and more linear, fatiguing echo and boomy bass removed – although procedure and software was over-complicated and buggy compared to audyssey and room perfect.

License was definitely worth it for me, I've used various different room corrections over the years and Dirac is the best I've used.
I usually limit correction to 250-300 Hz, but with Dirac I've used full range correction and it sounds great all over the apartment, not just in hot spot.
I've used Focused imaging when calibrating, since Tightly focused imaging made the soundstage collapse to center.1
