Adding a new room to my multi-room system (and other suggestions)
AnsweredHi, I'm very happy with my 3 rooms system (NAD C368 in the main room, Powernode and Pulse Flex in other 2 rooms).
Now I'd like to buy a couple of speakers (finally tower, the others are bookshelf) for my bedroom, and I'd like to integrate the system with a small (and not to expensive) amp and streamer. What are the options, in order to integrate the system in my Bluesound app? A good piece of hw, for the price, could be the Wiim Amp, but I do not know if it would fit with Bluesound system. The Edge is a little bit too expensive, for the matter :-).
While I'm here... do you have any suggestion for a new couple of speakers to pair with the Powernode 2i? Now I'm using a pair of old Klipsch RB-15, but I want to improve the sound. The room is small.
Thanks.

WiiM and Bluesound (BluOS) are proprietary systems so won’t work together.
The Bluesound POWERNODE EDGE is the cheapest device you can buy with an integrated amplifier for use with passive speakers. Perhaps look at ex demo or even the secondhand market. Even cheaper would be to purchase old POWERNODE models from the likes of eBay.
If you buy a hifi amplifier you could then get a NODE, older but brand new variant can be bought for £250 in the UK.

Hi, thanks for the answer. At home we are working on some project...
We are now thinking of moving the Powernode (as a 3rd system) in our bedroom, and we could buy a new amplifier/amp+streamer to replace the Powernode (in order to improve this 2nd system).
Should I get a Node Icon, it could be possible to link it to any amplifier (not BluOS) and perform the integration with all the BluOS System? Or we have to buy any Nad (C389, C399, V700 V2 or M10 V3)?
I'd like the Roksan ATTESSA too, but it has not the HDMI ARC on board. And we'd like to use the hi-fi audio, not the TV audio. The NODE Icon page says "HDMI eARC lets you connect seamlessly to your TV, bringing hi-res music streaming into your movie and gaming experiences, all with just a single cable". In this situation, how could it work? TV (HDMI ARC) to Icon (HDMI ARC) and Icon to any amplifier, regardless of the presence of HDMI ARC on board?

Yes the NOODE ICON will work in conjunction with the POWERNODE, again yes the ICON can connect to pretty much any hifi amplifier.
Again yes, for HDMI all you need is one HDMI cable from the TV, the ICON will then send audio out to any amplifier using either the analogue or digital outputs.

Hi, thanks again and sorry for my english.
Please, forget the PowerNode, it will be moved to my bedroom, with new speakers.
For my new project I would like the new system, which I will use in the living room, to work technically well with amplifiers of any kind (e.g. McIntosh, Quad, or other), even non-BluOS ones, once paired with the Node Icon and that the two, together, allow me to use the BluOS system with its app when the Node Icon is connected to the TV using its HDMI ARC. I really want to listen to the TV (and also the audio from the Apple TV) through the speakers, using only the TV remote (right now, the Apple TV is connected via an optical cable, and I have to change the source every time).
If this is not possible, my choice will be, of course, to buy a third Bluesound or NAD amplifier.
Thanks.

We finally bought a NAD M10 V3 and DALI Menuet. Thanks for the support.
