I think you should have a look at your metadata.

There are several metadata editors available, some free (Mp3Tag) some need an account (Bliss?)

If the metadata is correct, there is no reason why the data should not appear in the BluOS app(s).

    Thanks for your reaction Alain.
I forgot to mention that used iTunes to get the cd’s on the NAS and iTunes gives all the metadata but these are not visible in the Bluesound app.

The Apple ecosystem is not compatible with regular applications, I'm afraid you will need to steer clear from iTunes.

I think the only viable solution will be to re-edit all your metadata as described above.

Thanks Alain, but I am afraid this is not all true. I copied a folder with music from iTunes from my pc to the NAS and all metadata is visible in the Bluesound app.
    So it does work.
Again, I’d wish I could add a screenshot here.

Adding a screenshot is not difficult; click on the symbol looking like a small landscape and load up the pic.

Of course you need to take a screenshot first and save it in your laptop/pc. (see below)

I meant adding a screenshot from iPhone or iPad. That’s not possible.

I will add one from my pc later.

See two screenshots. The one with metadata is a copied folder from my pc. The one without metadata is the same cd ripped and save direct to the NAS. In both cases the cd is ripped with iTunes.

If there is a solid alternative for iTunes that does the job better, I will please hear so.

Maybe because the second are wav?

    Of course not.

WAV files do support metadata but in all honesty I would transcode to FLAC for full metadata support. I see the album artwork is missing in your screenshots, this is because iTunes stores the album artwork in a separate database to the actual tracks rather than with them.

I use a program called Bliss to automate album artwork retrieval/ fixing of data size / limiting resolution as well as cleaning up any tags. On the Mac there is a also a program called Yate which is good for metadata tags.

Thanks Seppi. But does this mean you use several programs to get your music ‘complete’?

I use XLD as my CD ripper / audio format converter, then use Bliss to sort out the artwork and tags. Yate for me is a backup as Bliss pretty much runs automated. It checks my artwork is at least 500x500, it makes sure it not over 600kb, it capitalises Artist, track and albums tags and removes imbedded artwork and if left running on my Mac Mini scans for library changes automatically.

Thanks Seppi, but I find that too much work, juggling with several programs to please. This is 2025!
iTunes, although not user friendly at all, did the job in the past and should do it now.
And it did in one case. So I am still trying to find out where it went wrong.

I'm not familiar with iTunes but when ripping a cd can't you select to rip to FLAC directly (or some lossless ALAC), somewhere in a setting? Maybe that could solve the WAV problem?

I really don’t think this has anything to do with WAV or FLAC or whatever.
I use to rip in WAV a few years ago.
    No problem.

    Hi Olgers

Back in the early 90s when WAV files (Windows Audio Vectors) created, they were never designed with music in mind. They are notoriously bad at Metadata as there is no standard for them. Please see this Help Centre Article for more hints; https://support1.bluesound.com/hc/en-us/articles/200271906

Confession: I just ripped a cd in Lossless and metadata is there. I’ve learned again today. Thanks for your help and advice and sorry for my stubbornness 😉

Nice to hear you finally started to appreciate the suggestions given.
I can think of half a dozen reasons to prefer flac for my library, avoiding tagging misery is just one of them.
