Music coding to 432 Hz
AnsweredThis isn't a question directly linked to BluOS technology, but I'll ask it anyway (for music lovers): Have you tried transcoding your music from 440 Hz to 432 Hz (I think this is possible with software such as Audacity)? And if so, what's your impression?

Not something I have ever done, a few threads about this and upsampling I think were on Pinkfish and the hifisubjectavist forums.

Not sure what you mean or intend to do, maybe a typo? 440 Hz is an unsuitable sampling rate for music. Why and what would you like to resample?
Only in rare cases do I resample, typically from hires >48 kHz to 44.1 or 48 kHz. In my case transcoding is typically from wav to flac during CD ripping, flac to m4a to make it suitable for an old ipod, or from opus to flac to make it suitable for BluOS, as BluOS support for opus is seriously flawed.
The tool to use depends on the purpose, there are various en/decoders and front-ends each having their own benefits. Audacity has lots of functionalities, but is less suited for batch transcoding jobs.

Generally I don’t recommend converting data like you’re trying to do. It depends on the conversion program. There can be conversion error and when you do that, the bass usually sounds less pronounced. It generally does not improve sound quality and can introduce other problems such as phase shift which will make your music sound worse.
