Question regarding the clock on node icon when in standby
AnsweredHi I just got the node icon and I have a question about the clock. Whenever I pause my music it switches the screen to the clock view, but I want it to always show the cover art even when music is not playing. I checked settings for the player and there is an option to turn off show clock when in network standby, but that only turn the screen off without showing the clock when it had been idle for some minutes and goes to standby. So if I leave it turned on it will also show the clock when it goes into standby. But isnt there a way to always have the album art and meta showing on the screen? I don't like that it goes straight to the clock as soon as I pause my music, would be nice to be able to see what music is loaded through the cover art even when the music is not playing. Let me know if this is possible, and if not maybe you can implement this option/feature through a future app/player update.

Thanks for the feedback Tom
It has been passed along.

Bluesound does many strange and annoying things. This is one of them. The normal behavior is to show the track information when paused; especially the time into the song. When I say “normal”, I mean since CD players in the 80’s and every other digital player in the past 40+ years.

And another annoying thing is that it cuts the beginning of the song when it goes from showing the clock to showing the cover art. On my Icon I cant even turn network standby off. You have to quickly turn on the next song so it don´t cut the first second

How do you mean cut of the beginning ? Do you not hear the first seconds of the song or ? It works fine for me only thing is it takes a few seconds before the album art cover / song info comes up on the screen when the screen has been off for some time. But if I just played some music and its showing the clock, then the cover art comes up on the screen almost right away. I have mine set to turn off the screen and clock after it has been idle for a while.0 -
Hi
No. For exampel. If I starts streaming Donald Fagens song "Planet D´Ronda" from the album "Sunken Condoes" it cuts the first drumkick in the song. I dont know if it is exactly one second but it cuts out the very beginning of songs when starting songs manually via USB. No lag at all via coax
By the way. How do you get the clock to turn of after a while? Mine is always on even if I chose to turn of "show clock in network standby"

If you are quick to start the song all over before the clock appears it does not cut the beginning. But if you wait a couple of seconds and start the song again it cuts the beginning

Thats strange, I cant seem to reproduce that but will keep an eye and do some testing later.

Thats weird, I also have mine set to off and it shows the clock until the player goes idle, then it turns the screen and clock off. If yours doesn't do that there is sometthing wrong with it. You will have to reach out to support or create a ticket.0 -
Hi
Thanks for your respond. I was wrong about the clock though. A bit quick. It works as it should and turns off when player goes into network standby.
The only annoying thing now is when straming via USB to preamp. I have done some more testing and noticed when streaming lo-res(44.1K/16bit) there are no cutting. Works like a charm. Just as when streaming via coax to preamp. No cutting in the very beginning of the songs. Only when streaming hi-res. Hard to say if it is something with the hardware or software. I dont know.
Worth notice is that if you chose to press "play all" in the bluos app then it works perfect. Maybe that is because the stream is not interrupted when the next song on the album starts. It is just when stopping and wait a moment, then start a song again it cuts a verry småll chunk of the song in the beginning. The song I gave as example is easy to hear this phenomenon on. It cuts the first drumkick in the song.
