How to set time on Bluesound Node Icon
AnsweredI just setup the new icon but noticed that the time displayed is 20mins behind my actual local time. How to I set the right time/ time zone ? Could not find any ways to do it through the bluOS app.
Appreciate any help! Thank you.

Hi Pern Chen Lee
The time is set to GMT from the Internet upon first boot. It will then select the time zone from the mobile device when you complete the setup.
If the time is off, select Settings, Diagnostics, Rebbot from the BluOS App.

My Node Icon is stuck on UTC and there does not seem to be anyway to correct it. I even did a factory reset, and set everything up again. Still displays UTC. I sure wish one could set the time zone manually (or at least tell it to grab the zone from the app host). This stubborn UTC time display is driving me crazy. :)

My Node Icon remains showing exactly one hour ahead of the correct GMT. I’ve tried everything including the automated help message service which I found to be particularly unhelpful based on my personal experience. A little frustrating to be honest.

@Tony W. regarding the correct time being displayed on the Icon you said this… “ It will then select the time zone from the mobile device when you complete the setup.”
What mobile device? Do you mean an iPhone or iPad? If so that’s fine as they’re always correct. I was wondering if the Icon went online to get the correct date / time. Seems it slaves it from the device running the app.

Hi Ray, I understand the ICON gets time directly from an NTP time server but does not know what time zone it resides in, the time zone (not the actual time) is then adjusted by seeing what the time zone is from the device running the BlueOS App.

Hi Seppi, as long as it’s accurate that’s the main thing for me. The last thing I need is having to adjust the time. Sounds similar to how Windows keeps PCs time accurate. Set it and forget it hopefully.
