BluOS app; flickering/fading user interface
AnsweredHi,
- When browsing albums using the BluOS app on iOS/iPaOS the screen fades/flickers while (what it seems) album art is being loaded. At some app upgrade the fading of the app user interface was introduced and the problem was not there before.
- When putting BluOS app in background on iPad and opening the app again, the album graphics on the current page is gone. It is necessary to scroll up/down a page or two for the album graphics to return.
- Running on macOS Sequoia (M2 Pro) it takes about 15 seconds to start the BluOS controller app (slow startup got noticable when version 4.x was introduced).
System setup:
Node 2i player (Ethernet connected), BluOS controllers (iPad Pro M1, iPhone 13, Mac mini M2 Pro) on 802.11ac Wi-Fi. 19500 songs in library (SMB share on Ethernet connected Mac mini).
Please test thoroughly before release.

Hi Bjorn
The shimmering you are seeing is by design to create a faster response in the App so you are not waiting for album art to appear. Album artwork on average makes up about 75% of the entire metadata. Our development team didn't want to slow you down so introduced this to let you get to your music faster then populate as we go.
This has not been introduced in the BluOS App for Windows or macOS just yet but is coming. As you pointed out the delay you experienced is why we are moving in this direction.
If however you think this is something else, please e-mail us at support@bluesound.com, maybe with some screen grabs so we may take a closer look.
