Vault rips CD's and produces Album name and track names in Chinese characters.
AnsweredThis has started happened only recently (last couple months), and so far only with Deutsche Grammaphon titles. Specifically Rachamaninoff For Two, and Hillary Hahn Retrospective. This is using the native Vault ripping function, NOT separate ripping software. The screenshots show Rachamaninoff data in the interface and also in Windows explorer.
The Explorer image shows another serious bug in the Vault ripping software that has been happening forever: Some double disc sets get merged into one folder and make it impossible to enjoy an album in it's normal track sequence.
Please provide a solution.

The Bluesound VAULT relies on online databases for CD metadata, CDs are identified by number of tracks and times. Unfortunately this means that on occasion a CD can look identical to another and the VAULT pulls down the similar albums details. Likewise albums released in different locals but identical can have the metadata in the incorrect language for you but correct for someone elsewhere.
If you send an email to Bluesound support@bluesound.com detailing the CDs in question they can submit information back to the database owners and ask them to be amended, this takes time and would unfortunately not help you as you have already ripped the CDs.
The merging of albums is again the misinformation in the online databases. In the meantime the quickest thing to do is to manually edit the metadata, I probably had to do this on two albums out of every 100 but that goes up when ripping classical CDs.
Using a metadata editor you can connect to the VAULT’s music share, then you are able to create the additional missing folders, move tracks and then edit the metadata. It may sound daunting but if you open a good / working albums into an editor you will be able to see how it’s laid out and then apply similar to the discs with issues. I use some software called Bliss which works on many platforms.
