Does the Vault 2 have an internal DAC and if so, which one? I'm impressed by the sound I'm hearing from ripped CDs; sometimes it sounds better than the CDs played on my CD changers. Thanks

  The older VAULT 2 came with a Texas Instruments Burr Brown PCM1619 DAC chipset. At the time it was one of the leading DAC chipsets. We have continued that tradition with our latest NODE offerings as the 2024 models come with an ESS Sabre (ES9039Q2M).

  Hi Soul Man

  The VAULT 2 and 2i use the same DAC chipset. The Sabre DAC mentioned is in the new NODE, NODE NANO and NODE ICON.

  Thank you both Tony W. and Soul Man! I was wondering if the Vault 2i had the ESS Sabre DAC or the TI Burr Brown DAC. IMHO, the Texas Instruments Burr Brown PCM1619 DAC chipset is as good as the ESS Sabre (ES9039Q2M) DAC. I haven't enjoyed an audio component this much in a long time!

  It is very good. I have one too. But it would have been a nice surprise if the had switched the DAC but hadn’t mentioned it.
