What's the best positionning for Flex 2i speakers in my living room?
AnsweredHi everyone,
For now, I'm listening to music on a pair of nice bookshelf passive speakers plugged in to a Marantz amp. I like my gear very much but we're currently renovating our future apartment and those speakers won't find their place in it.
As we're completely recabling the whole place electric network, I'm considering switching to a wireless multiroom system such as the Bluesound Flex 2i speakers. We've to finalize the electrical plan very soon so I'm looking for advice about where to put the speakers for the best possible rendering.
Two thirds of the living room is the open kitchen and dining room while the last third is some lounge place with sofas and all :
To keep it simple, I'd like to listen to music at 2 locations :
-
Sitting in the blue couch in the living room. Once in a while, we'll also watch a movie sitting in the very same couch while projecting to a screen unrolled before the window ;
-
Cooking in the open kitchen.
So I imagined positionning 3 Flex 2i speakers :
2 speakers paired in stereo above above the living room's window, tilted downward, aiming toward the couch:
1 speaker in the upper-right angle, also tilted downward and facing the center of the room:
What do you think about this proposal? Should the sound output be loud enough and nice to hear on the whole sound spectrum?
I'm not considering putting 2 speakers in stereo in the living room for two reasons:
-
The cost ;
-
The fact we're moving constantly in this part of the house thus it seems less important having left/right channel.
What do you think the "sound feeling" will be in both "living room" and "lounge" part of the room when all 3 speakers are playing (2 in Stereo, 1 alone)? I'm afraid it may feel "blurry" with sound waves messing with each other...
I can virtually decide to put my speakers at every angle in both rooms and I've got to make a decision before monday!

Hi Jeremie
If it was me... I'd be considering a POWERNODE with two in-wall or in-ceiling speakers. The clincher being you want to watch a movie occasionally.
That being said, this is information that may be best handled by your Authorised Bluesound Value Added Reseller to really discuss cost that meets your budget along with options that best suit your environment. Please checkout to find a dealer near you; https://www.bluesound.com/zz/dealer-locator

Not really an option cause, in addition to the (way) higher cost, there will be no suspended ceiling in this room and all the walls are load-bearing!
