Same for me but only with music streaming and only on SPIDIF (optical/coax) out. It‘s not my external DAC - I already made several tests. USB out is fine! HDMI ARC via coax out is fine too. It‘s most probably not the SPIDIF chip (U6 on the PCB) or any of the SPIDIF sockets. It‘s also not the clock. Must be something on the SBC (single board computer, the smaller PCB on top).

Yes, only via Streaming Services. Do you have since Last Update?

I am not quite sure. It just occured. It‘s a repetitive click in a certain interval - always the same and bit and sample rate independent. I will double check tomorrow if I can reproduce this with the HDMI Auto Sense function! Didn‘t try to disable it yet! Thank you for that hint!

I want to add that switching to an optical HDMI cable or just leave the HDMI connection away completely doesn‘t make any difference. Clicking noise is still there.

Ok, I now double checked and I can totally reproduce and confirm it‘s the HDMI ARC Auto Sense feature! If on it clicks, if off it‘s gone!! Two weeks of troubleshooting came to an end! Now it‘s on Bluesound to fix it (if it‘s not hardware related - which I really hope). Thank you so much Martin for finding out the cause of this issue.

I already went through an support analysis (issue #433372) but they told me it must be hardware related.

Recently there were two BluOS updates. One general update v4.6.3 on September 17 and one specific for the NAD M66 v4.6.6 on September 30. The release notes for v4.6.6 mention Auto Sense support for the M66. Imho it's very likely that something got mixed up when implementing Auto Sense for the M66.

Today Bluesound confirmed me that is seems to be a FW issue.

I'm also asking for a response from technical support regarding this matter.

I own an audio and video installation company that uses Blusound in multiroom systems and high-end audio walls.

After recent updates, the clicking noise in the speakers is still clearly audible. This problem didn't exist before the firmware update introducing Dirac!

Your problematic updates are causing us to lose customers, and we're seriously considering offering other multiroom systems to our customers.

The problem only affects the system with HDMI autosense enabled. When we disable autosense, the crackling noise disappears. People have reported this problem numerous times in several threads on this forum over the past few months, but despite several updates, you haven't done anything about it. Giving your customers the choice of audible clicking noise or non-functioning autosense doesn't reflect well on the quality of your technical support.

The problem occurs with every Blusound Node we've used with a coaxial/optical digital output.
