Apple TV through Bluesound

Hi I have a question regarding Apple Music that I hope one of you can answer. I have been using Qobuz with my N130 until now. I personally think it has worked well, although I don't think the user interface in Bluesound is optimal. Now there is a great desire from the rest of the family to "go back to" Apple Music. I have Apple TV and everyone in the family has iPhones, so it makes perfect sense. The question then is, does it even make sense to run the Apple TV through my Bluesound using an HDMI extractor or the TV - does it sound better than if I run it directly into the amplifier and are there other advantages? Thanks in advance

  Similar family here…. Everyone with iPhones, multiple Apple TVs, iPads.

  We don’t use Apple Music but if we did we would use the iPhones and Airplay direct to Blueosund devices, simple, direct and easy.

  My daughters all use Spotify, so similar but use Spotify Connect.

  We don’t use Apple Music because of the limitations of sharing forced with using Apple Family.

  Thank you Seppi. The problem with AirPlay is that it’s not lossless. If I use the Apple TV it should lossless to my knowledge?! What I’m not sure about, is if it’s possible to use the DAC in the Node, when I wire the AppleTV to it, or if the ATV’s DAC overrule it.

  True, it won’t be lossless but could you tell?

  Test by playing on the ATV connected to the TV and the TV connected to the NODE (all HDMI) before buying and extractor. You probably have it wired like this already and see if Airplay or the ATV is any better.

  Using HDMI is digital so it’s the NODE’s DAC that would get used unless you unless you are using the digital outputs on the NODE, then it’s the DAC further down the chain.
