Bluesound Nodes single or dual DAC?
AnsweredThe recently introduced Node Icon is specified to be dual DAC.
The older Node 2i and Node Gen 3 N130 also featured a dual DAC design, despite this not being mentioned in any specifications.
This raises the question: what are the designs of the Node X, the new Node N132 and the Node Nano, single or dual DAC?

Hi Gerben
Yes the NODE ICON is the first Bluesound Player with a dual DAC. The NODE N132 and the NODE NANO, like all previous NODE and VAULT models is a single DAC. Sorry if you heard otherwise, it would not have been from us if you did.

Seen maybe? Someone showing the main board of an opened unit.
So if Bluesound does not call a board with two PCM5122 chips on it dual DAC, then can you please explain what the "dual DAC" in the Icon is supposed to mean, the benefits this provides to the customer/sound quality and how this differs from a board with two DACs?
And if the new Node N132 has only a single DAC, are you telling us Bluesound deliberately saved about $10 on a second DAC chip for the Node N132? I can understand that for the low priced Nano, but for the N132?

In The NODE ICON, two separate DACs will be used, one each for the left channel and one for the right.
Just a reminder that your Blueosund Players are finished goods products and not DIY kits. Opening your Bluesound Players not only void your warranty in all regions but also prevents additional aftermarket support in anyform. Thanks for understanding.
