Macbook to Blusound Node streaming better than 44.1KHz?
AnsweredIs it possible to stream from a MacBook to a Blusound Node with better quality than 16 bit by 44.1KHz? For example, devices that have a USB-B audio port can stream over USB from a MacBook at 96 or 192 KHz. I understand over Airplay you can stream Apple Lossless to the Node, but I assume this is downsampled to fit in the Airplay 16x44.1kHz bit rate.
Can you use an HDMI 2.1 cable from a MacBook to a Node to transfer audio using HDMI 2.1 eARC? Or are the only options Airplay, Tidal Connect over TCP/IP, Coax digital or Toslink optical digital?

Bluesound devices don’t have a USB input to connect a PC, however the new NODE ICON due soon will have USB C for connecting a computer.

The HDMI input on any Bluesound player is only for connecting a TV.
See this support document for Apple Music / Mac at CD quality.
