Can't here my LG tv when connected to optical input on node 2

I have connected my LG tv to the Node 2 via the optical input.

followed the instructions to the letter on the tv and the node.

I have tested the cable by linking my cd player to the node via the optical cable and it worked fine. I am pretty sure that the output socket on my tv is ok as I can see the red light on the end of the cable when attached.

Has anyone got a theory?

Or solution would be even better>
