LG tv to power node via optical

Hi All

 

I wondered if someone could help me.

I am trying to connect my LG tv to the bluesound node via the optical input.

I have followed all the instructions, but when I select the optical input on the app, there is no sound .

Can't see what I am doing wrong.

There is a signal through the cable as you can see the red light.

  Also look at the sound out format. PCM may be your best option. I have an LG OLED but am using HDMI eARC out.

  Thanks both. I have selected optical out in the settings sound menu and the sound format is set to PCM. Can I connect via hdmi eARC? Is there an input on the node 2 for this ?

  No HDMI on Node 2. 

  Possible bad optical cable?

  Bit of an update.

   

  I ran the cable from my cd player to the node.

  Worked fine.

  So the issue is either a setting on the tv that I'm missing ( don't think it's this as I have followed the instructions to the letter),  a faulty output on the telly ( unlikely I feel, as the lg tv has good build quality) or some sort of compatibility issue. If it is compatibility, then it could come from node or tv I guess.

   

  I am truly flummoxed. I have put a ticket in with Bluesound. They have just come back with articles at the moment.

   

  Any ideas would be gratefully appreciated.
