Playback problem with Tidal HR files
AnsweredDear all,
My system is build up with a Bluesound Node 2-i followed by an external DAC (Mytek) and I was/am very satisfied by this.
Since Tidal stopped the MQA file format something strange happens with some albums/tracks. Albums/tracks that are shown as ‘HR’ in the BluOs app start visually playing (bar below is moving up from left to right on the tablet screen) but the DAC indicates that no signal is coming in from the Bluesound Node 2-i.
This is – lucky me – not so for all HR albums/tracks, but happens occasionally. When searching for the same album in regular CD quality, playback works normally so far as I could find out.
A lot of albums/track indicates as HR however do in fact playback mostly as 24bit/96kHz or 24bit/44,1kHz.
Has someone an explication for this – and even better – a solution to make all the content play in HR if indicated so?
Thanks a lot in advance

Hi Eduard
Connect the NODE using RCA cables to your amplifier to rule out a playback problem with the NODE. If the NODE plays fine this way, double-check your external DAC documentation to confirm it is not locked to a certain output only or does support 24/192 playback.
If the NODE is not playing 24/192 playback out of the RCA connectors, please select Settings, Send Support Request in the App and our Support Crew will help troubleshoot further but I suspect it has to do with 24/192 playback on the external DAC.

Dear Tony
Thank you very much for your quick reply.
Your right that the HR files are playing on the RCA line-out on the Bluesound node.
It’s strange however that some HR-files are played trough the coaxial connection to my external DAC and others aren’t.
In the past, when MQA was still active, my DAC showed regularly files up to 24/192kHz. So as far as I can see there is no lock on my Mytec DAC who even threats HR up to 24/384kHz and DSD256.
Best regards,
Eduard .
