NAD M33 Play/Pause button behavior is weird
AnsweredWhen playing Roon, Local Library, Streaming or Internet Radio, pressing play/pause on the remote (or BluOS app) does what' expected, i.e., the playback is resumed or paused. Problem 1: there is no indication on the display showing the play/pause action.
Problem 2: for all other inputs it does something weird - it disconnects/reconnects the input, effectively mutes/unmutes the output, while the source such as the turntable or cassette deck continues to play! Why is this behavior needed when we already have the mute button? Again, there is no indication on the screen that it has been "paused".
When on the HDMI eARC input, it makes more sense to pass the play/pause command to the upstream source like an Apple TV, to do a more appropriate and useful thing, i.e., pause/resume the video.
Thanks!
