Loud Sound ouput

I have my NODE X connected directly to an Onkyo M-5160. The sound is great but volume is very loud even when I have the sound on the Node turned alway the way down.  What am I missing? What should I be looking for to resolve this issue?  Thanks for your help.

  I tried to Google the model but came up with conflicting info.

  Bluesound hardware is not renowned for having high level output so guessing the input sensitivity on the Onkyo is quite high.

  If not already done so try enabling the tone controls as this reduces the overall level a bit. Have a look at the handbook and see if the input on the Onkyo is variable or if there are any settings.

  Beyond that you might want to invest in some in-line attenuation - have a Google.

  What input are you using on the Onkyo?

  Thanks for your quick response.  Only options are audio in - L/R.  I have the white plug on top and red on bottom.  I am using the audio out jacks on the Node X.

  Hi Seppi.  Thanks for this advice I will try your advice.  It may have to do with the settings in the Node because when I first connected it the volume worked just fine.  I did make an adjustment to some of the controls on the Node so maybe that is where it lies.  I will give it a try a little later today as my schedule allows and get back to you.  Thanks again.
