Subwoofer sounds bad on Node
AnsweredI have an issue with my subwoofer that I don't get to works properly.
I tried a few things but nothing. Let me explain, I have a Yamaha home theater, a bluesound NODE attached to a Rotel stereo amp and a Polk subwoofer.
I use the same subwoofer between Yamaha and the NODE, I just switch the cables to use it with Yamaha or the NODE. When it plays on the Yamaha it sounds very good, is a smooth bass (music or movies). When is playing on the NODE it sounds like a solid punch.
I tried different cables, I tried different crossovers values on the NODE and on the subwoofer. A little sad because I chose the NODE because the sub out.
I could think that the subwoofer crossover is not working any more and that the Yamaha gets to do the crossover very well but the NODE does not.
Any ideas?

When using the SUB OUT from the NODE, you will be subject to the same volume controls as the NODE main outs. Given your setup, I am assuming your NODE is connected to your receiver and is using fixed out and you are using the receiver to adjust the volume. If however you are using the NODE to control volume and the receiver is the one with the fixed volume, you should get a better experience for what you are looking for.
In short, go with what your ears feel sounds best.
