Digital Output of Node x vs Wiim Pro
AnsweredI recently abandoned a squeeze box as a music server and am auditioning a Node x and a Wiim Pro Plus.
I am outputting the digital signal into an older high end DAC (Audio-GD 7).
During set up the Wiim Pro offers the option of different resolution outputs upto 192khz 24bit. It plays a test tune, and if the DAC can't cope you have the option to go to the next resolution down. My DAC worked fine with the 192 / 24 output.
My question is what does the Node output at? There appear to be no options except for the proprietary MQA, which my DAC doesn't support.
Many thanks

The NODE X outputs upto 24/192.
MQA is not a resolution as such but rather a means of carrying information that is within a FLAC file, as your DAC does not support MQA then you toggle off the MQA setting in the BluOS App and you need not worry about it ever again.
If you did want to listen to what MQA offers you would have to use the analogue outputs of the NODE X bypassing your DAC. Tidal are just about to stop MQA streaming but HDTracks will be starting a streaming service later this year and offer both FLAC and MQA tracks, Paradise Radio also offers free MQA streams.
