BluOS app, Tidal and MQA
I have a question regarding your note on this:
"Note: From July 24, 2024, TIDAL will no longer support MQA ... MQA tracks in TIDAL will be automatically replaced with FLAC versions" and "deep integration with TIDAL Music Service gives you access to “Masters” content ...BluOS Controller App will display MQA content when it is available."
Am I understanding this correctly that from the 24th July - no MQA content will be playable via the BluOS app?
If so, do you have any timescales as to when MQA content will be available through HDtracks? And how much of the current catalogue will be available?

Hi William, I am not Bluesound but yes you are correct there will be no MQA via Tidal on any manufactures hardware or software player.
Bluesound’s sister company are licensing the MQA technology and it will be HDTracks themself who streams and decide on the content available (three major labels) no news about timescale beyond Q4 this year.
Reading between the lines of various news articles there will be a choice of FLAC or MQA streams of what content is offered, they are also going to use the new AIRIA technology but unsure to what this will be applied.
Keep an eye out for the website https://mqalabs.com/ to be updated.
Personally I am really looking forward to this as HDTracks fits my music choice much better and not overwhelmed with either music genres I don’t like and poor cover versions by unknown artists.
