    The input is Optical so you would need to use an optical out of your CD player and not coaxial, alternatively use the analogue outputs. The optical input is know as a Mini Toslink (3.5mm)

    This is correct, the HDMI port on Bluesound hardware is only for connecting a TV, if you want to connect another device then use the digital or analogue inputs.

    Thank you. My CD player has digital output (coaxial) with a phono jack connector. What is the connector type for the digital optical input on the Bluesound?

    An adapter comes in the box to use with a standard Toslink (optical) lead.
